On Desire, Memory, and the Search for God
“Our heart is restless, until it repose in Thee.”
Augustine of Hippo — Confessions, I.i
Join a small, in-person group to reflect on these questions in light of Augustine’s Confessions. Grounded in Augustine’s understanding of conversion, this group traces the movement from sin and shame toward wholeness, healing, and reconciliation—where the many dimensions of the human person are gathered into a unified identity before God.
Rather than a reading group, this is a psychotherapy group in which the Confessions will serve as a living framework for reflecting on and making meaning of one’s own experience. No prior background in philosophy or theology is required.
This group is designed for adults interested in personal growth and the relationship between faith and psychology. Participants need not hold any particular religious identity—only genuine curiosity about interiority, meaning, and the questions Augustine himself pursued so relentlessly.
